Which Candidates Support the Tucson Dog Protection Act?

Message from Jamie Massey:

I'm not in a position to make endorsements, but I thought I'd pass along some information to help you make up your minds.

Former state legislator Marian McClure, who has endorsed the Tucson Dog Protection Act and helped ban cockfighting, is running for a spot on the Corporation Commission. Also running is former state legislator Sandra Kennedy, who hasn't endorsed and who opposed efforts to ban cockfighting in Arizona. I don't have information on the other candidates.

Two incumbents, Senator Paula Aboud and Rep. Nancy Young Wright, have endorsed the Tucson Dog Protection Act and have been friendly to animal issues.

Cheryl Cage, Matt Heinz, Pat Kilburn, and Daniel Patterson are new candidates for the State Legislature and have all endorsed the Tucson Dog Protection Act.

Finally, Prop. 105 would make a ballot measure like the Tucson Dog Protection Act impossible. This is the one that requires a majority of all registered voters, not merely those who vote in that election, to cast a yes vote in order for any measure to pass that either requires a tax increase or requires a party to spend money. If TDP passes, it will require the track or its employees to cook the food or buy pet food as well as make accommodations regarding segregation of sex and time out of cages and that could cost them something. Prop. 105 is an affront to democracy.
